Explorations in watercolour and ink.

About this series: The patterns within these forms are contained within the boundary of a petri dish, where ink blooms and drawn marks interact and spread organically.

My process driven practice is predominately rooted in painting and drawing with a focus on sustainable materials. Combining mark making and fine drawn lines with stratified washes of pigment; paintings develop organically over many weeks. The beautiful and delicate flowing lines and blooms of colour celebrate the unique characteristics of the materials on the page.

On a personal level, the work reflects a fascination with the growing and spreading of organic forms. Questions around obsession are explored through drawing as a means to express and deconstruct my anxiety, which is inextricably linked to my concerns around sustainability.
